Hiroshima

A film by Pablo Stoll
Uruguay/Argentina/Colombia/Spain
2010, 80 mins
———————————————————————————————————————–
A silent musical based on real facts.

Synopsis:

Juan (Juan Andrés Stoll) doesn’t talk much, but he sings in a rock band. Juan sleeps most of the day, then works at a bakery at night.

This is the story of what happens when he wakes up.

As told by Pablo Stoll (Whisky, 25 Watts), Hiroshima, a film based on the life of, and starring, his brother Juan, blurs the boundaries between fiction and reality. Juan is a man who barely speaks and always seems to be self-absorbed in his own world, as if there is something invisible that separates him from us and reality.

Hiroshima is not exactly a silent film, but a film without words. The ambient sounds and music help to create a hypnotic atmosphere, a slightly unreal world where Juan lives, a place where words cannot be heard.
